Gert Freas was President of iRun4Life from 2013- 2017. She was instumental in helping to expand the website and database for Directors, parents and children.
After years in the corporate work environment, Gert decided to follow her passion and volunteer with a non-profit organization whose mission and goal was to help reduce childhood obesity. She served as President from 2013 to 2017 and saw the program expand to 28 schools and 10 school districts. Also, the iRun4Life Kids Only 3K grew from 475 runners to close to 900 runners in the 4 year period.
As a Certified Personal Trainer and RRCA Running Coach, Gert has had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and abilities. She has helped many reach their goal, everything from training for a 5k or marathon, qualify for Boston Marathon, losing weight, maintaining current physical ability, improving sports endurance or recovering from long term illnesses.
She is an accomplished runner, and she competes in running events from 5k's to ultra marathons. Many times she finishes first female overall in running events including a marathon and an ultra marathon. In addition to running, Gert enjoys cycling, hiking, skiing, tennis and playing with her grandchildren.
Gert currently lives in North Wales, PA, with her husband. She is the proud mother of 4 children and grandmother to 8 children.
Ivy is a past President of iRun4Life. She helped grow and oversee the organization until 2013.
Ivy was iRun4Life School Director for Linden Elementary, where her three children attended, and the race director for the Linden Elementary 3K. In 2010, the race was renamed iRun4Life Kids Only 3K and relocated to a central location. This event established the first kids only road race in the area. The iRun4Life Kids Only 3K is held at Doylestown's Central Park in Bucks County each spring.
Beth resides with her family in Doylestown, PA. After graduating from Rutgers she served as a leadership consultant for Sigma Kappa Sorority. During that year she traveled to colleges across the country advising and consulting with chapter members in the areas of recruitment and chapter operations. After her assignment ended she began working for IBM in their Management Development Center in Armonk, NY. She recently completed the project management certificate program at Penn State Abington and became PMP certified in June 2014. She is currently an HR Recruiter for BARC Developmental Services, a non-profit which supports individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
Beth started the Kutz Elementary iRun4Life running program in 2009 and led the committee until May 2014. Beth was the iRun4Life Board of Directors Secretary from it's inception until 2015. She is one of the organizers of the iRun4Life Kids Only 3k and volunteers in various community events.
She has participated in a number of races including half marathons and marathons. Beth enjoys the experiences and friendships she has gained by being a part of the iRun4Life organization.
Kathryn (K.C.) Wilder, PHD is a sports psychologist who works with elite and recreational athletes. She assists with issues around motivation, fears and other blocks to performance that many athletes experience.
Dr. Wilder earned a bacehlor's degree in organizational behavior and management from Brown University in 1989 and earned her masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Wilder earned All-American Honors at the University of Virgina and has been ranked in the top twenty in professional cycling in the United States. In 2007, as a masters athlete she won two national championships on the velodrome. That year she also went to the Master's World Track Championship in Sydney, Australia where she placed in the top ten.
Dr. Wilders lives in Bucks County, PA with her husband and their two boys. The family enjoys outdoor activities especially cycling and running.
Christina (Chrissy) Grube resides in Plumsteadville, PA, and grew up in Solebury, PA. Chrissy earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics at Lehigh University and her Juris Doctorate of Law from Seton Hall University.
After starting a family, Chrissy focused her talents and energy into raising her family and to many community needs which included the following: serving as both Vice President and President of the Groveland Elementary Home and School Association; creating, organizing and directing the annual Groveland Great Grizzly 5k Race; accepting a position on the Plumstead Township Park and Recreation Board; serving on the Central Bucks Superintendent Parent Advisory Board; providing legal assistance to community members; supporting and leading programs at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lambertville, NJ; establishing and directing the Hartman Great Grizzly Scholarship Award; and organizing and running the iRun4Life Groveland Great Grizzly Running Club. She also currently serves on the Travis Manion Foundation 911 Heroes Run Commitee.
Chrissy is the proud monther of three children and wife to P.J. Chrissy enjoys making fitness and activity an important part of her daily lifestyle. In addition to skiing, tennis, cycling, hiking and gardening, Chrissy has participated in several marathons and triathlons.
